hello friends welcome to dialandroid youtubechannel. in this video i am going to show you how to restore your warranty on samsunggalaxy s3 after rooting your phone or installing a custom rom. this video will help you toinstall official updates ota (over the air) or using kies after doing this procedure.so first let me show you how samsung determines that your warranty is being void or you haveinstalled a custom rom or rooted your phone. so first thing is obviously the interface theycan see whether its custom rom or you have this superuser application and other thingis they can check the device status. for that you need to go to the about device and goto the status and you will see device status as modified. and also you will not be ableto get the over the air update it will show
this warning that "your device has beenmodified. software updates are not available." so to solve this you need to first have fewthings which i have mentioned in the blog like you need to have a rooted phone withtriangle away application and you need to download a stock firmware from sammobile.com. so all those things and corresponding links are available in the blog, just go ahead andinstall everything first and then go ahead with the procedure. i will show you one morething, they have one more thing called flash counter & the binary status in the downloadmenu to determine whether your warranty has been void or not. let me show you that also.it will show up once you reboot your phone in to download mode, here you go. and youcan see here that it is shown as custom and
flash counter yes. that means you have downloadeda custom binary and your warranty is void. so to solve that we need to do few things,let me tell you those. first stage will be we need to do this counter reset using thetriangle away application, second thing we will install a stock firmware using odin andthen we will go ahead with a over the air update so that your device will be completelyon stock and you can update your phone and your warranty will also be back. so for thatyou need to make sure that you have installed triangle away application. here you go. justrun that application, it will ask for root rights initially, it will confirm your modelnumber and then just click on the reset flash counter, click on continue and it will rebootyour phone in to a special mode. here you
go... so now you can see the counter statusis one and status is custom. once you press the vol up key it will reset the counter.so, now this job is done. you can check it using the download menu. you can go to downloadmode with vol down+home button and the power button & click on continue. so you can seenow that custom binary download is no, the binary is official but the system status isstill custom. so for that we need to flash a stock firmware. so let me switch on my systemnow. you need to download a firmware which is little old so that you can check with overthe air update. so you need to run the odin software and i will connect my phone in todownload mode and the same will shown here as added. you can see the thing added here.and now just select that file..... ok .... this
will be the file and you have to put it inpda tab and just don't check the re partition or put any pit file or something just clickon the start. so now it will flash the firmware, you can see the progress her e, it will takelittle time since it is a big firmware around 800 mb so it will take little time.... let me show you whether process has been startedor not.. you can see here.. you have to wait little. so you can see the process has beenstarted you can see cache in status and you will see soon a slider moving on here whichis showing the progress. so once this process is complete you need to reboot your phone,it will automatically reboot infact. you will see pass here and the phone will be rebooted.once it gets reboot you need to setup your
phone as normal and we will see the processafter that. so let this process complete first. so once the process is complete you will seepass notification here. we have skipped the video to save your time. so now you can seepass and device will be booted..... it will take little time for initial setup around3 to 5 minutes for the system to boot so let me skip that section in the video.. so onceyour phone is booted it will take around 5-6 minutes and if it still not booting then youneed to goto recovery and wipe the data and then be rebooted, no issues with that. afterthat you will see. this screen this is the welcome screen which you will see when youget the new box packing phone. now i will setup my wifi... just to show you over theair update. here you go, so its connected.
now next. i will not setup any other thingjust skip it. ok so now my phone is back to the stock firmware and we have to setup the firmware update. so you can selectthe country for which you have downloaded the firmware obviously. so suppose i havedownloaded for india , i will register the device now. its done. ok so now you need tocheck whether your phone is back to stock or not. so for that we will go to the settingsagain and go to about device. it is already showing connecting to server so if the phoneis back to the stock then obviously you will see this screen. now you can see the phoneis automatically downloading the over the air updates. the same can be done by kies.now phone is back to warranty 100% on stock. let me show you the device status also. ihope it has came by now .. no its still scanning
so just wait for one or two minutes more.i think it will come. by the time you can see your update is already getting downloadedthat itself shows that your phone is back to stock. but still just for the check i wantto show you this also. so in this way if you phone is having some problem or somethingyou can go back to the stock before going to the service center or if you are waitingfor jelly bean update then this might help you because you can directly update usingkies or your over the air firmware update. it is still scanning.. i will do this latermay be 30 minutes later. i am just waiting for this device status. so in this processif you face any issue just comment here on youtube or comment on the blog we will definitelygoing to help you.
it takes around two three minutes time toget that system status.. device status. and make sure you don't have any files relatedwith superuser or chainfire root things on your phone because it may prove that you haverooted your phone or something. so better to avoid those things format your phone completelyand now your phone should be new. its taking huge time. ok .. please come fast.. and as i have suggested in the blog try todownload the firmware which is little old so that you can instantly get the over theair update. its still scanning... i can show you the same in download menu. just wait for5-10 sec more otherwise i will show..... ya you can see the device status is now normal. so you phone is 100% on warranty now.. enjoy the samsung warranty and thanks for watchingguys.. and if you have any questions just
