hi i'm billy of the fuji guys, today we're actually going to to take a look at the new fujifilm instant camera, the instax wide 300. this camera is fuji's latest instantcamera that uses the instax wide film, not the mini film sothis film is double the size of the instax minifilm. if you're looking for a camera that uses a much, gives you a much larger print, thismight be a camera to take a look at. we're going to look at the contents and get youstarted for the first time with this camera. depending on thecountry that you purchase this from, the package may differ as well as thecontent in regards to:

if the package includes film or not. so youwanna check that out okay? so let's take a look at the contents of this camera. let's go ahead and unbox the new fujifilm instax camera, the instax wide 300. depending on the country that youpurchase this camera from, it's gonna differ in terms of packagingbecause this particular package here will include a free pack of instax wide film. so let's just take a look atthe content of the new instax wide 300. soopening up the box of course,

we're gonna have several contents here. we have the owner's manual both, i guess here inenglish and in french and also various, differentlanguages as you can see. there is a little bit of a diagram on thecamera, how to set things up. and of course, this video's gonnashow you how to get this camera up and running right away. so let's put that aside. let's pull out the camera which is the bulk of the contents, and of course it's in a bubble wrap package here.

and again i'll put just the bubble wrap aside for now, and as you can see this is the instax wide 300. it is quite large compared to the instaxmini camera and of course, that's because it's all about the sizeof the film. the film itself uses instax wide film and it's doublethe size basically in terms of width compared to an instax mini film camera. okay so that's just theinstax wide. we'll put that aside for a second, we'll take a look at the rest content. um, inside the box you of course have

a camera strap, and of course th strap can be attached on to the camera. onto either side here of the camera and of course, it's quite simple just like any otherstrap you would actually end up, you know, looping this strap through andthen of course, you know, of course, attaching that that loop of course inside here,of course the proper way to do it is really to put it under. so under the strap as you can see,and then attach it that way.

so, again, we'll try to do that in a second if we have some time. in the box of course is a set of double a batteries, that you have a total of 4aa batteries. it's one-time use alkaline batteries sothe camera, once it depletes the battery, which is generally about you know a 100 film packs - 100 film exposures. and you'll notice it by you know the light on the back, indicating the flashrecharge taking a little bit longer. so we're gonna install those batteries in asecond. we also have inside the contents

a close-up attachment, lens attachment here. and the close up lens attachment is kinda neat and the way it of course works is that it changes the...er... attaches right to the front here and it justclips on, and as you can see had this little piece in the front here, and it's really an alignment to theviewfinder and as you look through it, you can usethis as a new focus point because of course, when you attach this close uplens onto it,

the focus distance changes. as well ontop of that, you also have this little mirror which is a self mirror here as you can see, um, you know, it helps you frame your shotthat you're definitely centred into it if you're gonna do some selfies with the instax wide camera. okay. in the other contents of course, thispackage comes with a free pack of instax wide film that'sactually 2 in a package, and and let's just openthat package up right now. but again,

depending on the country that youpurchase the instax wide camera from, it may ormay not to include film. so you wanna check the box tosee what does it does not you obviously have to pick up a set of film. it comes, in this onehere, 2 packs and it's of course sealed in a foil cover and of course, it's obviously to prevent light fromcoming in because this is film, once it's exposed to light of course you know,,

it's going to damage the film. i knowsome you have concerns about going to the airports and if we do have that concern, i recommendif you do have film, whether it's instant film or any typeof film, is to have it hand checked withsecurity. and saying that of course, i've been too manyairports and taken my instax film without any major issues at all with anyxrays getting into the exposure of that. so that's really the content ofthe instax wide 300

camera, so let's see if we can insert thebatteries onto the camera right now. as you can see on the side here, this is where the aa batteries would go into, and againwe're just gonna open up these batteries really quickly. again, because this is aa batteries they are one time use. so if you want to get rechargeable batteries you can. you can pick up a good set of nickel-metal hydride batteries, again, you want to follow theinstructions in terms of the orientation of the aa batteries. so that's 1, wegot 2 right there,

3 and then of course the last one righthere. so you wanna make sure that the batteries are oriented correctly. there's a little diagrams inside, and of course you can just turn on thecamera and if it turns on, obviously you had the batteries in correct. so before you think the product's either defective, just check that the batteries are inserted correctly. that was your on-off switch bythe way. now let's see if we can insert the film onto the camera as well.

so, i'm going to open up this package, the very first-time. it is sealed as you can see... as you can see itdoes have a protective cover. this is the part that actuallygoes into the camera itself. so this is how you wouldactually insert the camera. if you see the yellow tab here in the top right handcorner, that's the way that it should fit into the camera itself. there's a little clip here to push down and it actuallyopens up the back of the camera as you can see we can look right through the lens when the camera's turned on andlight travels through the lens

and then hits the actual film becausethis is the protective film that on it so.. in order to insert the film you want to match that yellow tab to the yellow tab right there, and of course we're just gonna put it inplace, okay, there we go. you don't want to jam it in, it just fits in like that and of course if you close the film, it should clip in place and if you look at this low window here,it will indicate of course, it aligns to the a yellow tab that you saw on the film so you know that there's film actually being loaded

in the camera itself. so now that the filmwas loaded of course, we have the option of course of attachingthe hand strap here. so for this video, i'm not going to attach it completely, but i'll just show you quickly how to loop that in. so as you can see, you've got the strap like here, like to go with this from the top down, and hopewe can get this to a loop in for me...there you go. so once it's looped in like that, ofcourse you can slide this forward and then the way to do this of course is tojust push this forward up. it goes right

under, and we're gonna just slide it in likethat, pull it up and... slide it back down... and then we can lock it in place like that and thenif you just pull on it, it is now tight and of course, you can adjust this back-and-forth, andyou would do the same for the opposite side as well. okay, so that's just..i wanted to show youthat quickly, but i wanna take it off because it's much easier for me to demo the product withit off.

and then of course, turning on thecamera is just this on an off switch right here. so you are just gonna twist it to the right and it powers on thecamera. when it first powers up, you can see there's a little light on the back here. thatjust indicates the charge recycle time for the built-in flash. so when the light goes off, of course thecamera is ready to go. now, it indicates on the lcd that there is noexposures left, that's because there's that protective protective cover in front of that...er... film cartridge itself. so you

wanna take the first shot, and that's going to eject the protectivecover as you can see right there. okay so that was your protective cover. you can put that aside. now the film's ready to go. you got 10 exposures, there's different dials back here likethe l and d that stands for light and dark, and pushing it will togglebetween different modes. so l and d. so that's really three differentoptions. so, when you don't have anythingdisplayed on the back, that means that it's on normal exposure.

if you want to make the picture lighter,you wanna have it indicated as l to make the picture much brighter,and if you want the picture to be darker, then you would push the button again, andit would show that it's d. so d stands for dark, and it's gonna make a darker exposure of thescene, and that's done through, of course, the built in aperture that it's gonna close it down a little bit to let lesslight get into the lens and onto the film. ok? so i am going put it back just to the normal exposure. then you got this flash button on theright here that toggles between a different modes. you've got forced flash,

and then you basically have auto flashwhen you don't see a flash indicated on it. as you can see you have the optical viewfinder and then you have this little led light, that again, indicates that the flashes ready toshoot. on the front of the camera of course, you'vegot the opposite side of the optical viewfinder, you got some sensors here to determinebasically the amount of light that's coming in, and so it determines what shutter speedsthe camera should operate on. again this is because it's anautomatic camera.

the exposure is going to be done automatically for you. this is basically a focal, a focus distance. so turning it sets it to basically three meters to infinity andturning it to the right again a changes it to a a close-up you know... three meters, and then of course much closer than that,and then of course, attaching this piece onto the front allows you to do, ofcourse, close-up shots. so that justclips right into the front of the lens i believe. there you go, and

first shot i guess, is, let's do a selfie ok?so i am going to set it up to... to do a close up and then just take a little selfie here of myself. i set in my face onto that little mirror, the film comes up and were just going to let that sit and of course, wait for it toexpose. i am going to take this piece off again and, when you look through the viewfinder ofcourse, you'll see, that there is some.. uh..a circle right inthe middle. so you want to make sure that when you are

composing the scene, if a subject's veryclose, you're gonna have a parallax because whatyou're framing through this glass, is not the same as what's being capturedon the lens. so, as you go further and further back, that issue becomes less and less apparent. so, if you do a lot of close-up shots just makesure that you deal with the parallax correction becausewhat you see through there, is not necessary been captured through the lens itself. and that's why you have, when you attach the close-up lens, you have this extra circle appears that helps youposition

the focus point for the camera sothat you don't have a misalignment when it comes to taking that shot. so that's just howyou take pictures. if you want to ensure that the flashalways fires, you can push it and then of course, we're gonna take a flash shotright here and again, i'm gonna change my focus distance to a to 3 meters to infinity, and see if we can get a different shot right here. so again, this film
