the blower running when it should not wouldcause that condition. at least i can tell if that’s the case if the blower is running. four flashes means the high limit switch isopen. for some units, the fans will turn on to circulate the air until it resets. i do not know which haier furnace model mineis. five flashes means the rollout switch is openor it actually sensed a flame rollout. you want it to tell you if that happens. it sometimes malfunctions because of wiringproblems. if you get six flashes though, that indicates the ac power is reversed or improperlygrounded.

i cannot see how it would fail to be properlygrounded; it isn’t like i rewire the thing in my spare time. a grounding wire could have been blown outthe last time the house was struck by lightening, a rodent got roasted when it decided to nibbleon the wrong wire, and so forth. what does seven flashes mean? it means the thing has a low flame signal.whether that’s due to a thermocouple too far from the flame the last time you cleanedthe pilot tube, a dirty flame sensor that needs to be cleaned or pilot tube that needscleaning, you’d have to check. or the gas flow is weak, which the utilitycompany needs to check.

if it has a continuous flash, that can alsomean it senses a flame while the gas valve is off. how do you get flame without gas? a wiring problem, one way or another.
