How To Flashing fly f351
hey guys, in this video we're going tocover flashing the firmware on a micro scisky flight controller. this is a very common flight controllerfor micro quadcopters because it allows you to use the gui clean flight which isreally nice so you don't have to do the whole ftdi thing. if you are looking into buying a micro scisky for your micro quad, i would strongly suggest it. they are really great fight controllers: super easy to use and great for beginners. for our first step,we're going to gather parts. for this, we need our computer. it can be a mac ora windows it doesn't really matter. we're going to need a micro usb that plugs into the back of our scisky here.
we're going to need some form of jumpercable. you can use a paperclip if you want. and of course, your going to need your micro micro scisky flight controller. for this, you don't have to have anythingsoldered on. it depends which one you buy. i got this one from banggood. it didn't come with anything soldered on, so i soldered on the female losi and themicro jst 1.25s here. you can get ones with pre-soldered micro jst 1.25s but i wouldn't suggest it because they solder them on wrong which is really terrible.
all you need is the flight controllerbecause it can get power through the usb. when you do decide to build and fly your quad though, you will obviously need to solder on these parts. okay guys so now you wantto download cleanflight. this is the homepage of cleanflight and it is downloadable from cleanflight.com. which will redirect to the google web store where you can download the app on chrome. so this version 1.2.3 thestyling changes very slightly through the updates, but not too much, so if youguys are watching this video a few years from now, it should still probably beclose to the same. so we have the welcome page here- we have documentation support. i'm not gonna be looking over that.
then we have the firmware flasher. this is where we're going to be spending most of our time so, first your going to want to choose a board and i'm going to choose alienwii f1. although this technically isn't our board, this is a firmware that everybody else online is using, and this is the one that i'm using, and it seems to be working great for me so, i'm gonna select alienwii f1 and choose a firmware. and then you can select the newest version which will be the one that appears here. make sure that no reboot sequence is checked, flash on connect, and full chip erase. don't worry about any of this stuff over here. you can just click load for more online. and give it a second... and there you go
it should say: target alienwii f1 which is what we want and a bunch of information about it. and then it says it's loaded online and it's ready to flash, so for this, we're going to plug in our scisky flight controller. ok so to plug in our sky flight controller,we're going to take our micro usb. we're going to plug that into the back of the scisky before we plug it into the computer. and then we're going to do istake this usb cable here, and just barely rest in one of the usb ports of the computer here so it's not actually plugged in completely. it's okay if you accidentally plug it in nothing's going to happen. and then you're going to takethis little jumper cable and then you're
going to run across two little metalplates here one shaped like a doughnut and is over the quantum label and one is shaped like this weird starish shape. so what you want to do, is hold them overeach just like that, and then you can plug it in. and you should see all thelights on your board flash up. and it should say flashing keep holding it. there we go, verifying... and programming successful! a little green light should flash then. and then you can remove your jumper and set that aside. now that you'redone with that, you can go back over to the welcome screen. and there you go. now you should be able to press connect...
and it should pop up just like this and then as you can see, as i rotate the board, the little box there moves around. in thisvideo we're not going to go into setting it up in cleanflight, but in our nextvideo which is coming out very soon we will. so there you go. thank you guys forwatching, make sure to give us a like subscribe to our channel, and if you haveany other video ideas, leave them in the comments below. thanks for watching!
